Joe The Bachelor
Season One - Episode One
I'm Joe Bachelor. I'm a smart, sexy guy...rich and successful. But I'm missing something in my life - someone to share it with. I am ready to settle down and start a family, but with so many eligible ladies out there, it's really hard to find someone! So I've set out on a mission to find the girl of my dreams and marry her.
I've invited seven lovely ladies to the mansion so I can get to know each one and hopefully fall in love!
The limo arrived that first night and the ladies were beyond gorgeous!
I've invited seven lovely ladies to the mansion so I can get to know each one and hopefully fall in love!
The limo arrived that first night and the ladies were beyond gorgeous!
Our first cocktail party was spent just mingling with each other very casually, and getting a feel for each girl. I'd say it was a success!
I didn't learn an awful lot about the girls the first night, but I think I got a sense of who they are and what they're all about. First impressions mean alot to me! I explained a bit about myself to each young lady too. I explained that alot of people consider me to be eccentric - maybe because I'm young and wealthy and I tend to march to the beat of my own drum, especially when it comes to business matters. I'm also a bit of a party animal. Not to the point of being extreme, but I do love a good party and love mingling and socializing. On the relationship end, I'm definitely flirty and a hopeless romantic through and through. However I can be a bit over emotional at times, which can come off as moodiness. Now that the girls had a sense of who I am, I couldn't wait to start my one-on-one dates!
Finally it was time for my first one-on-one date. The lucky lady...Abby Anderson. At the cocktail party, her striking beauty and curvy figure caught my eye right away. We decided to go to a beachside clubhouse where we had a private bar, some casual games, and great soul music to dance to.
I have to admit, I'm not the best dancer - but Abby didn't mind. We played a friendly game of chess and when I beat her, she didn't seem to mind at all! She laughed alot and has a great smile.
I could tell Abby was into me - everything was going so perfectly, we just clicked right away! It was like we'd known each other forever.
We spent the night just talking, laughing and comparing funny stories. I told her about the time I got stung by a jellyfish and my brother had to pee on me to make it stop stinging. She told me about the time she actually ATE a jellyfish by accident. We had some good laughs and I thought this date just couldn't possibly get any better. Abby told me that she was in real estate sales, and felt like she was a born saleswoman. She said in her younger years she had wanted to be a fireman and had always been told she was very brave. She admitted to being a bit of a party animal as well. As for relationships, she said most of the guys she's dated have been starving artists and as a result, she can't stand art. She said when it comes to love, she's a bit of a perfectionist - she just isn't willing to settle for anything other than true love. I agreed with her on that! Overall I thought our date was fantastic. Abby is down to earth, very real, light hearted and funny and I really can't wait to see her again!
I found out that the next date was with Cecilia Cranston. I was excited and couldn't wait to get to know her. She certainly was a knock out - that auburn hair, soft and silky like a movie star! I told her we were going out to eat on the beach at this cool place that's shaped like a boat.
Cecelia was smiling ear to ear - I found her a bit hard to read. Was she smiling because she was happy, because she thought I was funny, because she was being sarcastic? The conversation during our meal was a little slow moving. She didn't talk a whole lot which made her even harder to read. But I just couldn't take my eyes off of her, she was truly gorgeous.
After we ate, we sat on the beach and just chatted. Again, the conversation was a little slow. She just didn't have alot to say. I wondered if it was because she was just shy. When she did talk, she told me that she worked from home part time as a sculptor and that her business was called The Savvy Sculptor. She said that she also worked outside the home at a software firm and that she was a computer whiz and had been since she was young.
She said she liked the paycheck at the software firm, but that her true passion was her sculpting. She said that as far as relationships, her last one didn't work out because he thought she was a workaholic. She said she doesn't think she is, she just enjoys what she does. When she was a kid, she was a virtuoso on the piano but she didn't care for it - still her musical talent has stayed with her and she enjoys singing in the shower. She said she's been told that she has no sense of humor, but she disagrees completely with that and she hopes that I can see past that as well.
As the sun began to set, we decided to head back to the house. My final feelings on this date were mixed. It took a while to get Cecelia to open up and start telling me about herself. Once she did, it seemed to mostly revolve around her careers and she focused on the negatives alot. I didn't get a great vibe from that, but I was hoping there would be more to her as we continued to get to know one another. After my date with Abby, I guess it was hard to compete - so I tried not to hold that against Cecelia.
The following evening, it was time for another date. I was so excited! Abby and Cecelia were hanging around waiting to see who got the next date.
And the lucky lady was..... Brittany Bradshaw! We set out for Little India Bistro which is a tiny little romantic place downtown. There was no one else there, which was especially nice. Brittany was absolutely stunning. She was darker skinned, and told me that she was actually part Indian, which I thought was cool considering the place I had picked for our date, without even knowing that about her. Over dinner, we talked alot and the conversation was very smooth and relaxed. I felt very comfortable around her, despite the fact that she was incredibly beautiful which can be intimidating. She told me that she's quite ambitious and very adventurous too. She said she is studying to be a doctor and wants to join Doctors Without Borders. I asked if medical school was as hard as I had heard, and she said that it wasn't really hard for her because she has a genius IQ. Hmmm beauty AND brains - can't ask for much more! She admitted though, that despite her smarts, she was a little clumsy when it comes to love and has never really had a serious boyfriend before. I found that hard to comprehend! We continued to chat about everything under the sun, and she told me that she and Cecelia had gotten into a couple of disagreements already! Apparently Cecelia was sculpting things out of her food which the rest of the girls thought was a bit odd. She said that she and Abby had actually gotten pretty close in the house, since both of them can't stand art. We had a few laughs about the whole situation.
At the end of the night, I came close to kissing Cecelia. I can't explain why - I just was very attracted to her. She just has this incredible vibe about her, she's irresistable. I admit, I even flirted with her and to my surprise, she didn't reject me! I told her that I felt great - I could jog all the way home and she said she could too....except for those darn heels. We laughed some more and the night ended perfectly. Overall our date was awesome. Smart, beautiful, witty, funny, adventurous....this could be the girl of my dreams!
The next night, I had a special surprise for my next date, which happened to be Emery Ellis. I decided we should put on our PJ's and just kick back, have some drinks, watch a movie on TV and just hang out.
Our conversation was going pretty well. She seemed a little annoyed about not having a 'real' date - she didn't say so, it's just a feeling I got. I asked her about her job and she told me she's a fitness trainer and that she really enjoys it. She's always been athletic and has just always had a passion for fitness. She said that she was quite exciteable and had a tendency to say or do things spur of the moment without thinking first.
I didn't really know what she meant by that, but a few minutes later I think I found out. We were watching football, which she said was also a passion of hers. All of a sudden she blurted out "NO YOU STUPID IDIOT!!!" at the TV. I was a bit alarmed, but afterwards she apologized and said that she knows that was innapropriate of her. We laughed about it, but deep down I had mixed emotions. I was kind of turned on by it, but at the same time it was so opposite of her appearance and my initial impression of her as being a meek, sweet girl.
After the game, we watched a 'chick flick' and she seemed really into it. We even cuddled on the sofa for a while, which felt really nice and natural. I was finding myself to be very relaxed and comfortable with this girl - but man, she seems like a firecracker! Later on, she told me that she strives for perfection, it's what makes her a good fitness trainer. That, and the fact that she is very perceptive and can tell how someone is feeling or what they're thinking. I asked her if she was psychic. She said no and we both laughed. She said she just means that she has good instincts. I asked her if she had good instincts about me. She just smiled that sweet little grin of hers and didn't answer me - which was intriguining! I didn't necessarily feel any major sparks on our date, but I learned enough about Emery to want to know MORE.
The next day I had a date with Gretchen Garland. From the moment I saw her at the cocktail party I had been thinking about her. And now here she was, about to go out with me! I had an instant attraction to her, we had sexual chemistry big time already and yet I knew nothing about her!
I noticed her big soft lips right away....I hoped that I'd get to kiss her at some point!
So for my date with Gretchen, I decided to take her to the local swimming pool. I got changed and waited outside for her.
And holy moly.....when she stepped outside and I saw her in that hot pink bikini....my eyes were bulging out of my head. WHAT a knockout.
I knew that I had to get to know more about this girl immediately because she was just stunning to look at. She said that she's in art sales, and then made a joke about my yellow swim trunks and how she probably could sell those to a collector because they were so hideous. We laughed about that, but I did think it was a little inappropriate of her to insult me on our first date.
In the pool, we swam and I stared at her gorgeous body in that bikini....lol. Oh and we talked too. I asked more about her art sales business and she said that she was a born saleswoman and had been selling stuff since she was 4 years old and had her first lemonade stand. We laughed again, and I started to get a feel for her personality at that point and the swim trunk comment didn't bother me as much. She seemed really friendly and bright.
That is, until I playfully splashed her in the pool. She got out and was so mad at me! I got out and apologized to her. I told her I was just goofing around!
After a few minutes of pouting, we started talking again and things were smoothing out. She admitted to being a little neurotic and losing it when things don't go her way. She said that she has messed up relationships in the past because of it, and she didn't want to make that mistake again. I assured her that we all have our flaws. Then she told me that she can be overly emotional at times, and I comforted her by admitting that I was the exact same. The rest of our date was fun and carefree, and I had hopes that our next date would go smoother. Overall the date was pretty good. I mean the attraction I have for her is insane, and I don't want to sound shallow, but that can kind of compensate for certain flaws. I'd have to see how things progressed with her.
The next evening, I decided to take Fiona Franklin out on the town. She was a little shy or standoffish at first, but I was hoping that she'd lighten up.
She started off the date, before we even left, by telling me that she wasn't getting much sleep. I asked why and she said that she's a light sleeper and that some of the girls in the house stay up late and giggle all night. I was a little concerned that we was complaining already, but I chalked it up to her just being tired and maybe stressed a bit.
So for our date, I took Fiona to the art gallery. We saw some cool stuff, although I admit this was kind of a boring choice for a first date. Neither of us were crazy about art - but we did talk a little as we browsed. She explained that she's an adventurous daredevil and that she spends alot of time in the wilderness hiking, camping and zip lining. She said that she enjoys outdoor activities alot, but by profession she's a web developer. When I asked her why, she said because she has just always been a computer whiz and it pays the bills. Our conversation just wasn't really going much of anywhere. I've never really been the outdoor type, but I was open to trying new things.
About halfway through our date she just blurted out - ok Joe, I'm really sorry - I like you...you seem like a great guy - but I'm just not into art and this place is really boring. I thought that was a little ingrateful and mean spirited of her to say, but I agreed with her, so I couldn't get too upset. We ended the date both agreeing that if we have another date, it would be something we'd both enjoy a little bit more. Overall its hard to say how the date went. She seemed like an interesting girl, nice and friendly. But I think the circumstances were just strange, and I didn't want to completely hold that against her.
The week was coming to an end and my final date was with Darcy Dexter. I gotta say, she was so beautiful - I was attracted to her from the very start. Knock out beauty...blonde, curvy in all the right places, she was a 10 for sure. She also seemed pretty spunky at first. She started off the date by asking me what kind of music I like. I told her I enjoy a little bit of everything but I especially like soul music and she got all giddy and said she likes pop and country.
I got a very youthful vibe from Darcy, and I knew she was the youngest of the ladies in the house, so I took her out to the theatre. We were going to see a comedian perform and I thought it would be a great way to just relax and have some laughs. The comedian was the famous "Mo Money" and I was looking forward to seeing him perform. When we got there though, Darcy said "Who's Mo Money??" I couldn't believe my ears and I thought she was joking, and then I remembered her age. She probably had no idea who he was, and I was beginning to wonder if we would have anything in common.
After the show, we chatted for a while but the conversation wasn't going much of anywhere. She had enjoyed the comedy, and we had some laughs, but we didn't really talk much. So I was looking forward to getting down to the nitty gritty with her after the show. Unfortunately, it just wasn't happening. How could this stunningly beautiful girl have so little to talk about? I started probing, asking her questions but she almost seemed like she just didn't really understand what I was asking her. When I asked about past relationships, she said that she has been told she's a great kisser. Don't get me wrong, I like hearing that, but I was hoping for something a little more in depth. So then I asked about her career. She said that she doesn't really have one - she's a trust fund baby - and that she doesn't need to work. She did say however, that she was planning to open her own hair salon and name it "Heir Cuts" which she thought was hilarious since ya know...she's an heiress? I don't really know why she thought it was so funny. She said she had originally planned to be a cop when she was a kid, but then she found out she was rich and didn't need to work - but that she thought cops were hot.....and brave....like her. She said that because of her wealth, she's been called a snob but she doesn't think she is. She said she's had it rough because her last boyfriend called her stupid and said she was only good for one thing. And that he never did tell her what that one thing was, which pissed her off. I think I had an idea of what it was. So after she rambled away for what seemed like hours, she said that she tends to be really shy, which I couldn't really see that quality in her at all. She seemed bubbly and cute and fun, but I just wasn't sure there was any substance there. Still, there had to be something underneath all that - maybe it was just an act.
Back at the mansion, I knew I had a difficult decision to make. It was time for the cocktail party, and then the elimination. I had some good dates, some not so good dates, and some dates that left me scratching my head.
So the cocktail party began with some hip hop music and dancing.
Afterwards, I took each girl aside and we chatted for a few minutes and then I flirted with each one.
I guess I just wanted to see if there were any vibes there between us.
All the girls seemed into me, and I knew this was going to be alot harder than I thought.
With only 6 roses to hand out, I knew the time had come to make my decision. As I watched all the girls interact with each other, and thought about each of our dates, my decision became clear. There was one girl that I just couldn't see a future with. I just couldn't see her as my wife.
And so, with a heavy heart, I had to let Darcy Dexter go. She had been my last date of the week - I was hoping I had saved the best for last. But Darcy was just young and we were at different stages of our lives. She was young, rich and beautiful....ready to take on the world....or something like that. And I was ready to settle down and start a family - I just coudn't see that happening with Darcy, so I had to tell her goodbye. Thankfully, she wasn't angry about it. She accepted her fate and she admitted that I probably couldn't keep up with her anyway. We had one last laugh at least.
With Darcy gone, I had narrowed it down to six beautiful women. And at this point I had NO idea who would end up being my wife, but I was hopefully that one of them was 'the one'. Next week, I am going to take the ladies on dates based on what I have learned about them so far. Things that I think they'll enjoy or situations I think they will be most comfortable in. And of course at the end of the week, one more girl will be leaving my bachelor pad.
